christian bale pleads stress and batman pressure
christian bale pleads stress and batman pressure
As everyone knows by now, Christian Bale “attended” (rep’s words not mine) a police station after assaulting his mother and sister. Unless Bale’s mum and sis were planning to hold up a Gotham bank with fear toxin or kidnap the Commissioner’s children, there’s really no excuse for this behavior. But Bale’s camp is coming up with PLENTY of excuses:
1. STRESS
“Christian was stressed, but he didn’t lay a finger on anyone. Instead, he flew off the handle and cussed his mother. He just got very loud because his mother was saying some very outrageous things about him, and his wife.”
“He’s under a lot of pressure right now and simply got incredibly loud with members of his family around.
2. IT WAS HIS MOTHER’S FAULT
“Christian’s attitude is that this was his mother’s fault because she became very provocative in an argument they were having,’” the source said
3. HE’S UPSET OVER THE DEATH OF HEATH LEDGER
“Without Ledger around, he’s found it more and more difficult to communicate with those around him, especially his family.”
“He expected to share this moment with his friend, and now he can’t.”
4. FAME
It was also reported that Bale found it hard to shake off the mental strains of Batman, and told an interviewer he was having trouble sleeping.
5. HE’S JUST KIND OF A TOOL
“He regrets the way she treated him in their argument a lot more than having to talk to police about it. Christian has admitted that something just snapped, but he didn’t threaten anyone with violence.”

top 5 songs about summer
top 5 songs about summer
Have you been enjoying the summer, Shloggers? I went camping this weekend. Three whole days of fun in the sun…actually, I gotta use the term “fun” loosely. I came back from my trip with a rather bad sunburn, a wound from a fishing hook caught in my hand, and (at last count) about 500 mosquito bites.
Ah, summer. Catching lightning bugs, 4th of July fireworks, picnics and beach parties (and crank up the Jimmy Buffett…now!)
Kind of gets me in the mood for a top 5 list! I’m particularly proud of this one…
Top 5 Songs About Summer
1. Janis Joplin “Summertime”
2. The Beach Boys “All Summer Long”
3. Don Henley “The Boys of Summer”
4. Sublime “Summertime (Doin’ Time)”
5. The Lovin’ Spoonful “Summer in the City”

it’s just one of those days.
it’s just one of those days.
Maybe it’s because it’s the end of a holiday weekend, and the beginning of a work week…
Maybe it’s because the Pens are down 0-2 against Detroit in the Stanley Cup Series…
Or maybe it’s because I’m currently sporting a black-eye from a very confrontational Jack Russell Terrorist…
In any event, I’m in a deep, dark, wicked-bad mood (this does not bode well for you, Asslee and Speedy Pete!). To celebrate my Tuesday funk I’ve decided to break out another Top 5 list. This one’s appropriately titled:
Top 5 Songs to Listen to When You’re in a Bad Mood
1. Limp Bizkit: “Break Stuff”
2. Marie Sisters: “Real Bad Mood”
3. Allman Brothers Band: “Whipping Post”
4. Twisted Sister: “We’re Not Gonna Take It”
5. Everclear: “When It All Goes Wrong”

Hey there Shloggers…
As I sit here trying to recover from my latest malady, a nasty stomach virus with a touch of the red splotchies on my face, I’ve been thinking about my favorite songs that have to do with being ill, sick, the freakish love for doctors, etc, and I’ve come up with my…

happy Guy Fawkes day!
happy Guy Fawkes day!
“Remember, remember the 5th of November…”
For those of you that thought that Guy Fawkes Day was just a made-up holiday to support the plot of V for Vendetta, here’s a brief synopsis of Guy Fawkes and why he has his own day in the UK:
Guy Fawkes was a member of a group of English Roman Catholics who attempted to carry out the Gunpowder Plot, an attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament and kill King James I, thereby destroying Protestant rule, on Nov. 5, 1605. He was caught and executed. Guy Fawkes Day is still celebrated in
Guy Fawkes is seen as an original anarchist/pyromaniac. The discovery of the plot, the celebration, and Fawkes are mentioned in many popular songs and ballads. Notably, on the vinyl version of The Smiths’ album Strangeways, Here We Come, the words “Guy Fawkes was a genius” are carved near the center of the record. On John Lennon’s 1970 solo album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, Lennon sings “Remember, remember, the 5th of November”on the song “Remember.” The lyrics are followed by the sound of an explosion. The Jethro Tull song “Commons Brawl” includes the lines “But there again I think for less poor Guy went to the wall/The wrong house but the right idea to end the Commons brawl.”
In homage to Guy Fawkes, I decided to make a top 5 list of songs featuring fire and/or anarchy. Feel free to add your own as well:
1. Sex Pistols “Anarchy in the UK”
2. The Doors “Light My Fire”
3. Green Day “Holiday”
4. Billy Joel “We Didn’t Start the Fire”
5. John Lennon “Remember”
Here’s the opening monologue from V for Vendetta…you know, in case you have trouble getting into the Guy Fawkes Day spirit:
