Creed announce reunion; doom us all to hear more Creed

We thought – we hoped – that they were gone for good, but like so many supervillains, they’ve lived to see another day. Yesterday, holy rollers and ruiners of rock radio Creed announced that they’ll be reuniting this summer for a tour and – oh god help us – possibly a new album. And what’s even worse, their first concert since 2004 will be right here in Pittsburgh.

I mean, c’mon, Steel City event promoters. We don’t get Sonic Youth or My Bloody Valentine, but you try to pass off Creed on us?? What sort of tomfoolery is this? Isn’t it enough that we’ll have to hear whatever single they crap out endlessly all over the radio, in shopping malls, in our very places of business? But no, I guess you think that we want more.

Blech. I must be dreaming. Wake me when they break up again.
