Meet the Team: Adry Cantu, Client Success Manager

Today we meet with Adry Cantu, one of our Client Success Managers. Our Client Success team assists our partners throughout their entire event life cycle, acting as their direct line of contact with any questions or needs they may have. Since joining our team, Adry has been an invaluable asset in assisting our partners with their event operations, recommending industry best practices, and even translating our entire website into Spanish!  

After attending the Austin City Limits Music Festival in 2011, Adry knew she wanted a career working with music and festivals. The following year, she secured an internship at C3 Presents, a concert promotion, event production, and artist management company, which quickly turned into a full-time job. There, she worked as a Ticketing Manager, where she was in charge of building and setting small club shows across the company’s four Austin venues. She then moved to work for five years at Front Gate Tickets as a Festival Client Operations Manager, working to support the organizers of a number of music festivals.

Today, Adry has been a crucial member of the ShowClix team for nearly a year. Her hands-on experience managing festivals offers a unique perspective into the music festival space, both to our team and our partners. She works with the rest of our Client Success team to ensure our partners are always at the forefront of cutting edge technology, and her festival knowledge and expertise helps provide our partners with the knowledge to grow their business and put on even better shows for their attendees! In her free time, Adry enjoys finding and experiencing new artists in the Austin music scene.

What is a typical work week like in your role as a Client Success Manager?

One of the fun things about working at ShowClix is that every week brings new opportunities. As a Client Success Manager, I like to check in with our partners every Monday to chat about our priorities and goals for the week. Our company is going through an exciting period of growth, which shapes my weeks very differently and has made my portfolio very diverse. Depending on the week, I can be working on onboarding a new partner, testing new features, or guiding partners through the different points of their sales cycles.

As a Client Success Manager, you work a lot with some of our biggest festivals, fandom events, and other events. Can you tell us about your experience being involved in the preparation process for such large events?

There are a lot of moving parts when working with a large event. The thing to remember is that we’re all in this together and our partners trust our expertise to help their events be successful. I’m of the firm belief that communication is key, so I like to start by setting up weekly calls with our partners. We’re often in different cities, or even countries, and communication over email can sometimes be a challenge. Creating an environment where we include all team players to check-in on progress and any changes that wouldn’t typically make it to email is the most important part of this process.

Your first anniversary with ShowClix is right around the corner. What are some of your favorite moments since joining our team last June?

I have to tell you that it’s been a great year! I come from the music festival space and my introduction to fandom conventions and timed entry events has been amazing. Some of my favorite memories include working on-site at New York Comic Con and meeting fans that planned their cosplays for over a year! Of course, working alongside some of our music festival partners over the past year has been very fulfilling as well.

As a primarily remote employee, what are some techniques you use to make sure you’re maintaining efficient communication with the team in our Pittsburgh headquarters?

In order to ensure we’re all on the same page I’m in constant communication with our Pittsburgh headquarters. I’m on the phone, Zoom (our video conference provider), or Slack with the team several times each day. That helps maintain efficient communication, and our regular weekly meetings really help us stay on top of new releases and the latest news as our business grows!
