Event Spotlight: Greenwich Town Party

Event Spotlight: Greenwich Town Party

Held in the town of Greenwich, Connecticut, Greenwich Town Party (GTP) unites a community for a fun-filled day of music, food, and friendship! Returning for its seventh year, residents and friends are embracing the Greenwich spirit by celebrating what makes their town great.

Created entirely by the people of Greenwich, GTP is an epic sensation that encourages residents to give back to their community. They ask everyone to contribute as much as they can so more residents can come together and celebrate. GTP is privately funded through contributions from residents, businesses and, in part, through ticket sales. Donations subsidize 80% of the party and allow those who may otherwise not be able to attend to get free or subsidized tickets.

Celebrate the coming together of a community with these exciting event day happenings:

Rock out to legendary performances

Featuring Grammy Award-winning and Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame artists like Steely Dan, Alabama Shakes, the legendary New Orleans ensemble Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and the Texas blues artist Carolyn Wonderland, this year’s lineup is jam packed with powerhouse performances that you don’t want to miss. Sing along and dance the night away with iconic songs like “Do it Again,” “Reelin’ in the Years,” “Don’t Wanna Fight,” and many more!

Keep your eyes on the prize

In the spirit of giving back, Greenwich residents and sponsors have joined forces and come up with a spectacular list of auctionable items that are up for grabs. Place your bids on two unlimited movie passes for one year, cool off your Bieber fever with four VIP tickets to his concert at MetLife Stadium, and hail the New York Giants at the 50 yard line with four Coach’s Club Section Tickets. The list is growing every day so check it out!

Fun for the entire family

Get ready parents, GTP has something in the works for everyone! While parents can enjoy premiere beverages and delicacies from local businesses like Mill Street Bar & Table and Fjord Fisheries, kids can snap a photo with their favorite “walk around” characters, harness their creativity at one of the many craft stations, and get their adrenaline pumping on obstacle courses and bounce houses throughout the venue.

If you’re on the sold-out attendance list, be sure to watch and share the experience by following GTP on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Don’t forget to use #GTP2017 when uploading your own photos!

“For the seventh year, we’re excited for the award-winning lineup of bands performing at the Greenwich Town Party. We love how this event pulls so many residents, local businesses and organizations together. People of all ages — from babies to grandparents — can gather together, see old friends and neighbors, enjoy fantastic music, delicious food, fun family activities, and celebrate our strong community spirit and town pride.” – Ray Rivers, Greenwich Town Party Co-President
