Iowa, are you ready to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in a fun-filled weekend of country music? Guthrie’s River Ruckus, west-central Iowa’s beloved country music festival, is back for its 11th year along the Raccoon River at the Guthrie County fairgrounds. With a lineup of iconic country performers and over 800 campsites right on the grounds, this festival promises a weekend of fun, music, and relaxation!
As one of the most complete weekend getaways for any music fan, this festival is all about country music-lovers gathering together and reveling in their appreciation of music and the great outdoors. In addition to all of the evening entertainment provided, Guthrie’s River Ruckus even added a free stage on the campgrounds for everyone to enjoy all day long! Building on past artists such as Jake Owen, .38 Special, and Chris Janson, The Ruckus is sure to pull out all the stops this year.
In fact, Ruckus regular Chris Cagle is postponing his retirement for one last show and farewell to Guthrie County. This will be his first show in four years, as he wanted to dedicate more time to his family. But when his youngest daughter, Piper, put on the top of her Christmas list that she “wanted to hear daddy sing again,” Cagle jumped at the chance to play at the Ruckus. He’s booked to perform a two-hour set, and will even play some new music!
This year’s lineup also includes Kip Moore, Diamond Rio, Mitchell Tenpenny, Ashley McBryde, and more! Check out the full weekend lineup and start planning your trip! You may find that you want to stay for the entire weekend, and— fear not— Guthrie’s River Ruckus has you covered. With 800 campsites spread throughout the campgrounds, you’ll only be steps away from the fun at any point! With reserved and general admission campsites, offering electric or an off-the-grid experience, you’ll be able to tailor your accommodations to your exact preferences. Plus, with a food court available for breakfast, lunch, and after the shows, you’ll be set with all the food, water, coffee, and beer you’ll need. You couldn’t ask for a more immersive country music festival!

“I think the fans are extremely excited to get to see all the artists in our lineup this year, not just Kip Moore and Chris Cagle. Even though I will say, Guthrie Center is like a second home to Chris, and he always puts on one heck of a show and brings a huge party. The Ruckus experience gives everyone something to do all weekend long – from our free show Thursday, through the Watering Hole during Friday and Saturday, right up until the finale of Chris Cagle coming out of retirement for his last show ever – we’re all excited about it.” – Adam Faucher, Owner, Guthrie’s River Ruckus
