We started the busiest part of our season with a bang by attending LEGO KidsFest, Atlantic City Boardwalk Con, and BookCon last weekend. All three of these events were full of fun and exciting attractions that any new or returning event goer would absolutely love.
Read on to learn more about our favorite moments and event highlights in this next edition of the ShowClix Road Journal!
LEGO Kansas City-Brandon Lehman
Last weekend marked the 3rd stop on the LEGO Kids Fest 2016 tour, this time in Kansas City, Missouri. This midwest city has already proven to be a big fan of LEGO with their LEGOLAND Discovery Center, so LEGO KidsFest was a great event to BUILD on that.Â
It was a pleasure (as always)Â working and exploringÂ

Atlantic City Boardwalk Con-Matt Jessey
Atlantic City Boardwalk Con (ACBC) has returned to the Atlantic City Convention Center for the 2nd year running. This year, ACBC offered exciting interactive attractions like lightsaber training, workshops, laser tag, and more!Â
Taking photos and chatting with fans, celebrities were front and center as you entered the showroom floor, including Teddy Sears from Flash, Tyler Hoechlin from MTV’s Teen Wolf, Edwards James Olmos from Battlestar Galactica, and Breaking Bad’s own Giancarlo Esposito and RJ Mitte.
But the fun didn’t end there! For those craving even more excitement, fans headed to ACBC’s after party events located at the prestigious Tropicana Casino & Resort and at Bally’s Wild Wild West Casino & Mountain Bar to dance the night away and take a ride take on a mechanical bull.
Make sure to check out ACBC’s website and social platforms for more event day fun and be on the lookout for ACBC in 2017!
BookCon- Katie Smith
BookCon last weekend was a blast! This annual event took place in Chicago for the first year, allowing many first-time attendees the opportunity to take part in awesome panels, meet their favorite authors including HGTV’s Property Brothers and the Divergent Series’ Veronica Roth, and visit tons of great exhibitor booths. It was awesome to see such a wide range of attendees – families and fans of all ages – getting excited about books.
On the ShowClix side, this was an exciting event, as it marked the launch of our dedicated iOS app for Lead Capture. We teamed with exhibitors who used our new app to scan attendee badges, building up their mailing lists and facilitating contests. This was in addition to our duties supporting the on-site ticket sales and will call, as well as the fan favorite – the ShowClix photo station.
A special high-five goes out to Allison, Lejla, and all of the folks over at ReedPOP for another fantastic event. Keep an eye on for all of the details, as BookCon returns to NYC next June.
