Our team traveled to The Javits Center in New York City last week to work with our partners at BookExpo and BookCon! These amazing literary events celebrate storytelling in all its forms, starting with BookExpo, a trade show event for industry professionals, and ending with BookCon, the event where fans can interact with authors, publishers, celebrities and content creators of all kinds!

I had an incredible time as always working with BookCon at New York City’s Javits Center last weekend. It definitely lived up to its reputation of being “the event where storytelling and pop culture collide”. Guests included Kevin Hart, Chelsea Clinton, and Bill Nye “The Science Guy”, along with many well-known authors and YouTube stars that had fans lining up outside the Javits starting at 3:00am each day!
This is ShowClix’s fourth year supporting the event, and this year our team did more than ever before. Besides ticketing the event and working in the registration area, we brought our custom photo stations to both BookExpo (the business-to-business trade show that takes place over the four days leading up to BookCon) and BookCon. We also provided lead retrieval for all BookCon exhibitors, virtual wristbands for the main stage panels, and scanning at all autographing events.
It was a busy weekend for us, and a great opportunity to showcase all we can do as a full service event partner. We already can’t wait for next year!

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of traveling to New York City for BookCon 2017! Being an avid book lover myself, I was particularly excited to work with this event. BookCon combines pop culture and the book industry and brings together authors, publishers, and fans.
Attendees experienced a weekend filled with loads of vendors selling thousands of books, author signings, meet and greets, and celebrity panel discussions. Celebrity guests included Lemony Snicket, Jeffrey Tambor, Krysten Ritter, Mary Pope Osborne, and many more. I loved the excitement of seeing guests run to their next event carrying bags filled to the brim with books!
Our team handled registration for the event, which entails setting up the box offices for on-site purchases and badge pickups. We also managed our custom photo stations and implemented lead capture technology for the exhibitors.
All in all, it was a fantastic event and I cannot wait to be a part of it again next year!
