While our Customer Care team supports hundreds of live events every day, they still jump at the chance to attend some of those amazing events themselves. Last week, a few of our team members attended the January presentation of The babyGRAND Show at Pittsburgh’s Arcade Comedy Theater, featuring our very own Customer Care Representative, Missy Moreno! Incorporating audience participation, improvisation, and a hilarious theme (think “The Golden Girls” meets “Wicked”), babyGRAND had the audience cracking up!

Want all of the benefits of an ab workout without actually working out? Go see Comedy Central’s The Daily Show host Trevor Noah’s stand-up act. The unending laughter is more than enough to qualify as exercise (or at least that’s what I’m going with)! I was lucky enough to see him last Friday night as part of a double header of headlining shows at Pittsburgh’s historic Heinz Hall. With 7:30 and 10:00pm performances, I downed some coffee and psyched myself up for the latter of the two. (more…)

This past Wednesday I went to see Black Marble, a band influenced by and dedicated to recreating ‘80s synthwave. As someone who has long been a huge fan of bands like New Order, Black Marble scratches that itch for bassy, synth-based music. The band was touring in support of their most recent album, It’s Immaterial, which was released in 2016 by Ann Arbor-based record label, Ghostly International. Also on the bill was YOU, of Avant! Records, and local band Death Instinct, whose drummer serves me delicious lunch everyday at Pittsburgh’s Market Street Grocery (shout out!).

This past Friday I went to the scariest haunted house I’ve ever been to. Literally – according to ABC News, Etna, PA’s ScareHouse is the scariest haunted house in America! As someone who watched Stephen King’s IT for the first time at age four, and whose dad transformed their entire garage and front yard into a haunted house every Halloween, I don’t scare easily. But ScareHouse definitely lived up to its reputation. (more…)

My hometown friends and I grew up on a combination of Alt Rock and Rap from the ‘90s, and the classic rock of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Music has always been a big part of the way we have bonded with each other, and it continues to be something that keeps us in touch over the years. Since completing college, we have quite literally spread to all corners of the USA – Portland, ME; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Seattle, WA; San Diego, CA; and just about everywhere in between, too.

I’ve been a fan of A Day To Remember since my high school days, so I was pretty excited to have gotten tickets to their most recent show here in Pittsburgh, featuring opening acts Moose Blood and Wage War. Not long after I purchased my pair of tickets, the show sold out, and the line outside of Stage AE before the show made that pretty clear! (more…)

On the very last day of July, I began my journey to Europe to attend Amsterdam’s Dekmantel Festival, which occurred August 2-6 in various locations in and around Amsterdam. Celebrating its tenth birthday this year, Dekmantel is a music company that operates multiple festivals yearly throughout the world, hosting their main festival each August in Amsterdam.

Last week, I had the honor of spending time with our partners at the Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, Florida. I was on-site to train new staff as they prepared for their opening of the Dressing Downton exhibition in October, but I was also thrilled to spend an hour or so walking in the museum and seeing some of the amazing artifacts and decorative items accumulated by Otto Lightner. (more…)

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to explore Pittsburgh’s Mattress Factory Museum for the first time. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, and, boy, did it end up turning into an interesting experience! A few pieces really stood out to me, and I’m glad I got to witness them in person. (more…)
