The Wavelength Winter Festival returns for its 20th anniversary at Toronto’s Sneaky Dee’s, Longboat Hall, Sonic Boom, and The Garrison for four days of prominent performances from the Toronto music scene! Featuring twenty of the best independent music artists from the Canadian underground scene for twenty years of festival celebration, the Wavelength Winter Festival is the perfect place for music-lovers of any genre, running February 13-16.
Wavelength Music is a curated concert series that puts artist and community first, and is designed to champion creativity, cooperation, and collaboration in the independent music and art scenes. While Wavelength promotes a full calendar of events every year, the 2020 Winter Festival is set to be a huge milestone, ushering in their 20th anniversary year! The festival begins exactly 20 years to the day since Wavelength’s first show, and fans sure won’t want to miss their nostalgic nod to its older days during the first night of the festival.
While giving an homage to the past two decades, Wavelength’s winter festival programming is future-forward, as it strives to feature a “live curated mixtape” line-up of the newest and most exciting sounds from the Canadian independent music scene, including prominent rapper Haviah Mighty; the indie pop band with a varying roster of musicians, The Hidden Cameras; a reunion of Owen Pallett’s band, Les Mouches; singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumental musician Little Scream; and many more! Check out the full lineup for all the amazing performances you’ll see at this year’s festival.
Plus, as a guest co-curator, Different Kitchen and CBC’s Ian Steaman will bring a fresh new voice to the programming mix. With the inclusion of more hip-hop, R&B, electronica, and art-pop acts, he will help Wavelength continue to expand the boundaries of indie music, as he welcomes fans to explore new genres and experience the thrill of music, art, and performance together.
