All of our Account Manager Clixrs have been out and about this summer, traveling to Washington, New York, Iowa, Michigan and many more places across the country, keeping their suitcases constantly packed. At ShowClix, we love to travel and reach out to our clients to help with their event in any way we can.
This has been the summer of festivals for our Account Managers. Last month, Aaron Crothers and Jim Rice headed to Bunbury Music Festival in Cincinnati, OH for a weekend filled with great live performers, a fun-loving crowd, and some awesome festival leaders. Hearing stories and looking at pictures from the festival, we just had to know more! Read and see what they had to say about their time at Bunbury:
According to their official website, “To Bunbury, or to go bunburying, is to have a made up excuse to get out of doing something boring. For the weekend of July 13-15, 2012, we have a great excuse to get out of whatever you don’t want to do.” Sounds like a real good time! The festival aimed to be one of the most affordable, fun, tech savvy, and eco-friendly festivals this summer in America and it certainly did not disappoint! In fact, prior to its opening, it was named one of “2012’s Essential Summer Festivals” by Yahoo music.
When it came to admissions, Crothers said, “Bunbury really had the whole situation under control. They were concerned about handling walk up sales in a timely manner, but once they found out about how well mobile ticketing worked, they recorded a replaying message for the loud speakers at the gate that instructed folks on how to purchase from their smartphones and choose mobile delivery to avoid the lines. Worked like a charm.”
It is said that over 55,000 people attended the three-day Bunbury Festival, which is great attendance for it’s first year! One of the features of ShowClix that Bunbury was excited to see in action was Crowd, our web-based box office. “They loved the speed,” Crothers said. “They had about 14 separate point-of-sale terminals and they were all using Crowd.”
Once tickets were purchased and scanned, attendees were ready to rock! The festival was a major success and Bunbury is already preparing for it’s 2013 festival. Crothers and Rice enjoyed their stay in the city of Cincinnati as well as the inspiring people behind the festival: Crothers noted, “The Bunbury staff was probably the most top notch group of people I’ve worked with at an event thus far. They listened, adapted, figured things out on their own, and really kept ticket sales on point.”
