In the event industry, a social platform like Instagram can be an easy way to share your event and get your fans talking. Since the site is primarily designed for photo and video sharing, you can quickly share exciting visuals before, during and after your event to provide fans with a sneak peek of what’s happening.
Good visual content appeals to your fans and will help create intimacy with your event. In turn, your attendees will use Instagram to capture their shareable moments at your event.
What should you be posting on Instagram? We have a few ideas:
Event hashtags.
Create event-specific hashtags to use with your Instagram posts. Encourage fans to use the hashtag to share their photos and videos from your event. This is a great way to gather a great deal of content around your event in one place, easily browsed by you or your attendees.
Before and after the event.
To get fans excited for the upcoming event, share behind-the-scenes photos and videos with them. Post your team setting up the venue, a video clip of the band’s sound check or anything else that gives your attendees a closer look at the event to start the social media buzz.
As the event comes to a close, post images to thank your fans for their attendance. Remind them of your next event by posting an image displaying the next event date.
Live from the event.
Just because the event is underway doesn’t mean you should slow down on Instagram! Share images and videos with your fans from a view that is not possible from the audience.
Be sure to engage with fans during the event by liking or commenting on their posts. Tell them what a rad picture they posted, direct them the photo booth you have on site, or simply tell them to have fun.
