Do you like supporting local businesses? Do you value fresh food, aged wine, and custom brews? If so, then you’ll want to head over to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center April 14-15 for Pittsburgh’s local food conference, brought to you by Farm to Table Western PA! This year’s theme is “Farm to Table Buy Local,” so you’ll have the opportunity to meet with other consumers and producers and learn the ins-and-outs of food and nutrition.
Farm to Table Western PA is the Pittsburgh area’s local food and healthy eating component of the American HealthCare Group, an organization that brings preventive services to schools, affordable housing communities, employer groups, and more. In conjunction with this mission, Farm to Table’s annual conference aims to connect consumers with their local food producers by providing local food programs for these communities.
Farm to Table means many things: knowing where your food comes from, accessing fresh and nutritional food, supporting your local businesses, and getting back to your roots. That’s why this conference celebrates the connection made by supporting all local businesses, from farms, to food producers, to wineries, to distilleries and breweries. Experience two full days jam-packed with speakers and demonstrations, including Dr. Dan Turo discussing the nine missed body signals that could leave you malnourished, Ilona Berkoben’s discussion about food quality and organics, and Monica Pape’s presentation on using edible perennials for soil health. You’ll also engage with over 150 exhibitors passionate about locally-sourced foods and beverages, including Eat The Butter, 412 Food Rescue, Wigle Whiskey, and more!
You know that what you put in your body has a huge impact on your health, energy, and daily motivation, so getting fresh, quality food is essential. Use this opportunity to connect with other local food enthusiasts to discuss where your food comes from, how to make healthy lifestyle choices, and where to find businesses and organizations that support these choices. Then say farewell on your final day with the Sunday Morning Brunch and the Sunday Evening Farm to Flask Tasting Event.
This tasty conference is one you won’t want to miss, so be sure to get your tickets today!
“The conference provides consumers with two days of networking and educational opportunities.
