Selfieville, Monterey, CA’s new interactive attraction and very first experiential museum, is a 60-minute immersive experience that’s the perfect family getaway for the young and young at heart. Expect to laugh, have fun, and make lasting memories in each of the amazing rooms, all brightly decorated and filled with bold graphics and sculptures that are studio-lit for that perfect selfie. Indulge yourself as a cherry on top of a sundae in the Sweets room. Walk down a simulated flagstone pathway lined with giant tropical plants and spotted toadstools in a jungle of super-sized exotic blooms on the Exotic Jungle Trail. And take photos of your friends adorned with giant wings in the Butterfly Room.
The true treat of this exhibit is the outstanding 3-D light show, developed by award-winning designer Bart Kresa. Paying tribute to movies from the golden era of Hollywood, this 20 minute presentation seamlessly transforms from one fantasy to another, dazzling your senses with swirling and flashing abstract lights, colorful vignettes of hot-air balloons, flying alligators, jugglers, luminous moonscapes, and much more.
The best part about all of this? 25% of Selfieville’s net profits will go to helping children in the California foster care system, and hundreds of thousands of other youths who are underserved. “I want all children to feel special and have the opportunities to succeed in life,” Lochtefeld said.
