Hosted annually by the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society, and themed “Tekko in Wonderland,” this year’s fan event will not only bring the best in Japanese pop culture right to the ‘burgh, but will take its attendees on a spectacular journey. Panels, vendors, an artist gallery, and more await fans inside, while exclusive roof access and numerous balconies provide cosplayers with the perfect outdoor photoshoots.

Meet Your Favorite Celebrities
Tekko 2018 has an amazing cast of celebrity guests throughout the weekend, including experts in the anime, music, and fashion industries. Meet the most prolific anime voice actor in the US, Monica Rial, who you may know from Assassination Classroom, Saga of Tanya the Evil, Dragon Ball Z Kai, and so many more. Dress to impress fashionista Kamilah Jones, creator of the apparel brand Hard Decora, which promotes aggressive individuality. Geek out with singer/songwriter Nancy Kepner, who’s created three albums and has performed at numerous conventions, and is herself a true fangirl at heart. Scream OMG for LM.C
Performing live at this year’s Tekko is none other than LM.C! This amazing rock duo features guitarist, Aiji, and vocalist, Maya. With eight full albums released, and several “best of” compilations, this duo’s popularity goes far beyond Japan. They have three world tours under their belt! Avid anime fans will instantly recognize their famous tracks, “88” and “Boys & Girls” as theme songs for the hit series, “REBORN.” For the second year in a row, LM.C returns to the US, only at Tekko. You won’t want to miss it!
Events for Everyone, from Book-Lovers to Thrill-Seekers
Tekko is far more than your average anime convention. There are so many amazing events, you’re sure to have a full schedule! There’s the highly-anticipated Masquerade Performance and Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest, where cosplayers are judged solely on the construction of their costume during a private, scheduled interview with a panel of judges. There’s also a Saturday night Dance Party, featuring a lineup of four incredible DJs. And – get this – there’s even an Escape Room. Yes, Tekko 2018 will feature a Wonderland Escape Room, where it’s a race against the clock as you travel to Wonderland to help the Hatter host a tea party before your sister’s un-surprise party. Of course, this is all in addition to the gaming hall, awesome vendors, NPC quests, anime screenings, and everything else we’ve come to know and love about Tekko!
