5…4…3…2…1…Happy New Year!
2019 is only a few weeks away, and there’s no better place to ring in the new year than aboard the USS Yorktown. Hosted in the nation’s top-ranked New Year’s destination city, Charleston, SC, the Yorktown Countdown creates a magical evening for guests of this exclusive New Year’s Eve Party. With live acts across multiple stages, several top-shelf bars, and 15,000 square feet of heated tent space, this event promises to send 2018 out with a night to remember.
Building the most unique party venue for New Year’s Eve in Charleston, SC is no small task. The USS Yorktown is one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during WWII for the US Navy, and is 890 feet in length and weighs over 30,000 tons. To prepare this historic ship for the party of a lifetime, warplanes are moved around the rooftop deck to make room. Staging, generators, port-a-lets, bars, and production are crane-lifted 100 feet in the air to create the Flight Deck VIP section with the best views of the Charleston Harbor, Ravenel Bridge, and downtown. Even the inside airplane hanger is transformed so attendees can listen to live music, enjoy several all-inclusive bars, and indulge in local Charleston cuisine. Plus, all attendees will have the chance to explore the entirety of this mesmerizing ship throughout the whole night!
But wait, there’s more. This all-VIP festival experience provides access to three different stages featuring Charleston’s top artists and live entertainers. Yorktown Countdown will give a platform for the most popular local bands and DJs, ranging in genres from dance, to funk, to jazz. The powerhouse soul band Motown Throwdown promises a wildly entertaining performance with ripping solos, soulful vocals, and catchy melodies. Blending RnB harmony, dance rhythms, and psychedelic orchestral elements, Terraphonics will keep you moving to a higher place. And the award-winning drummer and singer Quentin will keep you dancing throughout the night with his new project, The Quentin Ravenel Experience.
We know this event sounds too great to miss, so get your tickets to Yorktown Countdown before the clock strikes twelve!
