Fan Journal: Flo Rida

Last Friday, a few of our team members got to experience a great night of Pittsburgh sports and music. A few times each season, the Pittsburgh Pirates host a concert at PNC Park directly following a game, and this month the performer was rapper Flo Rida. Performing hits like “Low”, “GDFR”, and “Good Feeling”, Flo Rida put on a show that was fun for everyone! Read on and check out some of our favorite moments from the show.

Flo Rida put on a really fun performance last Friday! Our group was lucky enough to score meet and greet passes, so we were actually able to participate in a photo op with Flo Rida before the show. He performed a lot of his biggest hits spanning most of the past decade, which took me on an awesome trip down memory lane. Hearing songs like “Low” and “In The Ayer” took me back to my high school days!

PNC Park was rated the best ballpark in America to watch baseball, but did you know it also makes an awesome concert venue? As we made our way down to the riverwalk to join the other lucky fans who got passes to watch the FanJam post-game concert from the field, the PNC Park lights shut off and the recognizable beginning of “Good Feeling” blast throughout the stadium.

Flo Rida Meet & GreetOnce we made it to the field, Flo Rida did not disappoint! As the entire stadium sang along to some of our favorite Flo Rida and Gorilla Zoe songs, nearly a decade of memories came back to me. Even better, it was an amazing experience to be on an official MLB field with the city of Pittsburgh in the background; the view was incredible! I would definitely recommend watching a concert from the field if you ever get a chance. It was a great show and an awesome live music experience!

Just like my coworkers, I felt the nostalgia and all of the memories of awkward high school parties and late night drives with friends come rushing back to me once Flo Rida began performing on stage. PNC Park is such an awesome venue for concerts, and it was even more unbelievable experiencing it from the field. I was extremely disappointed that I forgot my Apple Bottom jeans and boots with the fur at home, but it was still an exciting experience nonetheless!
