We’re stoked to welcome Grey Area Productions to the ShowClix family!

Grey Area is an event promotions and production company that books awesome shows each week at Pittsburgh’s raddest nightlife and music venues. Check out a list of their upcoming events right now at greyarea.showclix.com.

Tonight at the Rex Theatre, the Pittsburgh-based promoters will host the first main event for this year’s VIA Music & New Media Festival.

Math-pop pioneers Battles will perform an audio-visual set, featuring songs from their latest record Gloss Drop. Get there early to catch sets from FaltyDL, Walls, Wolf Eyes, and down-tempo beatsmith Four Tet, each accompanied by visuals from video and new media artists.

The festival got off to a smashing start last night with a sold-out show at the Brillobox. The event marked the kickoff party for the five-day festival, featuring audio and visual sets from Pure Hype, Brenmar, and Thunder Horse Video, as well as a visit from singularity-wave rockers Trans Am performing their 1999 album Futureworld in its entirety.

Visit the official VIA 2011 program website to peep the staggering lineup of DJs, bands, electronic music and video artists for the rest of the week, and you can watch the live stream of any of the VIA 2011 events at via-pgh.com/live.

But really, why don’t you just grab your tickets from ShowClix while they’re still available? Weekend Plus passes are literally minutes away from selling out.
