Road Journal: Millvale Harvest Moon Wine Fest

Over the weekend, our team was working on-site alongside our partners at the Millvale Harvest Moon Wine Festival, a local wine festival held just across the river from Pittsburgh. Read on for our recap of the sights, sounds, and tasty wine and food we experienced!

Transforming Millvale Riverfront Park into a wine lover’s paradise, our friends at Millvale Community Development Corporation and the Borough of Millvale welcomed attendees from near and far for their annual sampling event.

Our team of four had a fabulous time manning the gate, passing out this year’s signature Harvest Moon Festival glasses, and sampling delicious vinos from our area’s finest wineries including Black Dog, Narcisi, and Pittsburgh Winery. I also want to give a special shout-out to the very young and talented entertainment of the evening, Funky Fly Project, a jazz and contemporary funk quartet all under the age of 18. You guys rock!

A few members of our team volunteered to scan tickets, issue wristbands, and process walk-up sales for Millvale’s Harvest Moon Wine Fest last weekend. Personally, I jumped at the opportunity to work on-site at the beautiful Millvale Riverfront Park and sample some delicious wines! I was primarily assisting with wristbanding guests once their tickets were scanned in, as well as distributing sampling glasses and merchandise included with VIWD (Very Important Wine Drinker) tickets.

Once the majority of guests had been checked in, we took turns exploring the event. There was a great assortment of food that seemed to never run out, a fantastic live band, and multiple local wineries to sample from. It was a very nicely executed event, so don’t be surprised if you catch me there next year as an attendee!
