Our team had a very eventful weekend! From sampling delicious brews on a Beer Barge, to admiring some amazing cosplayers at C2E2, to chilling in a pool full of sprinkles at Museum of Ice Cream, we’ve done it all!
Read on to hear about these amazing events from the team members who experienced them all first-hand.
Museum of Ice Cream – Sam Smith
Museum of Ice Cream’s opening weekend was an awesome experience to be a part of. I was there for two days during their opening helping them create a great check-in experience for all of their guests. Museum of Ice Cream’s Los Angeles pop-up is much, much bigger than it was this past summer in New York, and the reaction from all who attended was great! I don’t want to give too much away, but the sprinkle pool is back and definitely one of the main attractions for the museum.
I found it very impressive to see a partner work so hard to make sure that their event is unforgettable for everyone who attends. Through every step of the museum you are constantly engaged either by what’s being displayed or one of their extremely talented staff members.
Museum of Ice Cream is currently scheduled to remain open in Los Angeles through June, so be sure to score some tickets while you can!
Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) – Allison Taylor
C2E2 celebrated their eighth year with the largest fan turnout so far. We worked the Registration area for the event again this year. ReedPOP also utilized our system for autographing pre-sales and on-site scanning, since it went so well for another one of their events, Emerald City Comicon. Our Photo Stations were set up in three different locations around the show floor where fans took pictures with LEGO Batman and One Punch Man.
This year, the Expo not only had Stan Lee and Frank Miller together for a panel on the Main Stage, but also had its annual C2E2 Crown Championships of Cosplay. The competition included cosplay champions from around the world. This was probably one of the most sought after events at the show, and the excitement around it was amazing.
I always have such a great time at C2E2. The fans are amazing, the show floor is packed, and Chicago is a great city to visit.
Commonwealth Press Beer Barge – Jessica Merritt
The annual Commonwealth Press Beer Barge was in full swing this year! With over fifteen breweries, three musical acts, and two food trucks, the fun was never ending. Who doesn’t love riding the Gateway Clipper up and down the rivers of Pittsburgh and drinking beer? One thing I loved about the event was that they really promoted supporting local businesses. All of the breweries were local as well as the music acts and food trucks.
We supported Commonwealth Press by scanning tickets and helping with registration for special guests. Right at 7 pm sharp, it was all aboard! My favorite act of the night was the funky and entertaining marching band that opened up the night with a great start! Everyone had a great time at the event and danced all the way until we got off the boat.
