Last week I had the pleasure of once again making my way to San Antonio for PAX South, the world-renowned celebration of every type of gaming, from card games to video games and beyond!
Some of my biggest areas of focus while on-site at the venue were the setup of hardware, training the event staff and volunteers on things like using our scanners and fulfilling badge orders, and providing overall support at the event registration area including walkup sales and will call pick-ups. Overall, the registration process ran smoothly thanks to support from the ShowClix team in Pittsburgh and a devoted on-site staff made up of quick learners!
PAX South is always a sight to behold. The event was filled with tons of gaming fans of all ages and backgrounds enjoying their favorite pastimes and connecting with one another. The expo included anything a gaming fan could think of, like virtual reality demonstrations, console gaming, PC games, board games, and so much more. Our friends at Thuzi were also on-site, powering the PAX XP program, an interactive adventure wherein PAX attendees can complete a scavenger hunt with a PAX South exclusive story, scan their badges at on-site prize towers for a chance to score free merch, and collect trophies hidden throughout the venue for a chance at a grand prize.
Our partners at ReedPOP, producers of amazing fandom events like PAX and New York Comic Con, are always an absolute pleasure to work with. They really know what will please their fanbase, and they always pull out all the stops to provide incredible events for their attendees.
