Selling Tickets Online for Fitness Events

  • By ShowClix Team | Monday, October 1st, 2012

This summer, WHIRL Magazine hosted an all-day Yoga Fest + Healthy Lifestyle Expo at Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh with over 1,200 people in attendance! Celebrating the recent interest and expansion of yoga studios available in Pittsburgh, WHIRL wanted to showcase some of the amazing instructors, unique classes and the overall yoga lifestyle that the city is adopting.

Meanwhile, this weekend SHAPE Magazine’s Pilates for Pink+ event takes place in New York City. Our team helped them set up their Summer Beach Tour classes taking place in Chicago and LA, but this time, they will taking over Union Square this Sunday, flexing their Pilates how-tos and know-hows! With October being breast cancer awareness month, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Research Foundation..

Selling tickets online to a fitness, lifestyle or exercise event has multiple benefits: inform ticket buyers when classes will be available; allow people to register on a first-come-first-serve basis; see how many are interested in a specific category; outline workshop details…

One of the WHIRL Yoga Fest’s most important needs was the ability to have advanced online ticket sales. The team wanted to know how many people would be attending a specific class, so that they would be ready with the proper amount of equipment. In addition, there were certain workshops that only allowed a group of 15 attendees, so they had to be able to use ShowClix’s platform to limit ticket sales based on the type of admission.

Another benefit was the ability to sell equipment—such as a yoga mats or even a t-shirt—directly on event pages. It’s an easy addition to your page for customers to purchase tickets and merchandise all in one transaction. To find out more, visit this blog post!

Some Clixrs had the privilege of participating in some of WHIRL’s first-ever Yoga Fest classes, and our summer intern, Claire Jones, snapped some great moments from the day! Check them out below:

Participants exercising during ‘Drums Alive’ where they used exercise balls, stabilizers and drum sticks for a fun and fast workout!

Resting in ‘Child’s Pose’ during a workout.

Bhavna Mehta, an instructor from Himalayan Institute of Pittsburgh, teaching ‘Beginner Yoga’ in the afternoon.

Participants young and old enjoyed this day filled with fun, education, and fitness in Pittsburgh!
