October is upon us, which means that one of the most awe-inspiring events of the year is back for another weekend of celebrities, cosplay, and excitement, all with our team of live event experts on the front lines. New York Comic Con (NYCC), the largest fandom convention on the East Coast, is taking over New York, and we couldn’t be more excited to be powering this iconic event for the sixth consecutive year!
Our Engineers, Event Operations pros, and Client Success teams have spent months developing new technology and features and fine-tuning our on-site tech to ensure fans have the time of their lives at NYCC. With Fan Verification to crack down on scalping, our virtual queue to manage high-traffic ticket on-sales, and our team members and RFID scanners at all gates throughout the event, we’re pulling out all the stops to help make this the best NYCC yet!
We’ve always excelled at streamlining the admissions process for the main event in New York’s Javits Center, not to mention the special events all over. Now, for the first time this year, New York Comic Con is partnering with Anime Expo to present Anime Fest @ NYCC x Anime Expo! Hosted at Pier 94 during New York Comic Con, Anime Fest @ NYCC will provide fans the ultimate East Coast anime festival and celebration of Japanese pop culture, and our team is so excited to be providing ticketing and access control for this awesome inaugural event!
Plus, this year we’re rolling out a brand new convenient, integrated method of badging. Now, any purchase fans make through ShowClix or our partners will be stored within their RFID badge. Whether it be merchandise, exclusive add-ons, or autographs from some of their favorite celebrities (like Doctor Who‘s Matt Smith, The Avengers‘ Mark Ruffalo, and WWE® Superstar Sasha Banks), each of those purchases will live on their badge, adding convenience and reducing time spent in on-site lines!
If this all sounds too good to be true, you’ll just have to see everything in action for yourself. Put the finishing touches on your cosplay, and we’ll see you there!
