ShowClix Visits the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week 2012 Kickoff Party

  • By ShowClix Team | Monday, August 13th, 2012

Last week, some Clixers had the privilege of attending the Pittsburgh Restaurant Week Kickoff Party at the beautiful Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel downtown. As foodies and food lovers of all kinds, we enjoy all of the restaurants that Pittsburgh offers throughout the city. Add a dash of celebrity sightings—well, this was not just any celebrity—now and then, and you’ll adore Pittsburgh’s culinary delights and establishments even more.

This year, Pittsburgh Restaurant Week decided to host a kickoff event the Thursday before the summer weekly special began for the week of August 13 – 19. Greeted with lovely volunteers, we took in the space. Glowing lights, great tunes, free beer and delicious samples circled the historic lobby of the Renaissance Hotel. Also in attendance were several charities, who contributed to raffle prizes offered during the evening.

Get a look of the fun-filled night below:

The gorgeous ceiling of the lobby.

Yuengling sponsored beers for the event so that the first drink was on the house! Guests could choose from Yuengling Lager Light or Yuengling Black & Tan or the ever-popular Yuengling Lager. Delicious!

Announcements and thank yous from Beverly’s Birthdays, an organization dedicated to providing birthday celebrations for homeless youth living in transitional shelters in the Pittsburgh region.

Guests entering raffles sponsored by Clique Vodka. Prizes included gift certificates to participating Restaurant Week restaurants and proceeds from the raffles were donated to Beverly’s Birthdays and Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.

Quiche samples with portabellas, zucchini, squash, red onion & peppers, gruyere topped with balsamic reduction from Six Penn Kitchen!

Brian McCollum, Director of Pittsburgh Restaurant Week, getting ready to announce the winners of the raffles. And DJ Digital Dave, providing the perfect ambiance for the night.

And at the end of the evening, we happened to see Pittsburgh great, Hines Ward! Thanks for letting us snap a photo, Hines! 😉
