INTIX 2017: Laissez Bon Temps Rouler

Our team converged in New Orleans last week for the 38th annual INTIX (International Ticketing Association) Conference and Exhibition. INTIX is the must-attend event for anyone directly or indirectly involved in ticketing the arts, professional sports, college athletics, arenas, fairs and festivals, ticket distribution, and entertainment management. There are panels, break out discussions, and plenty of social gatherings all designed to meet with and interact with experts in the industry.

INTIX is hands down one of our favorite conferences to attend! During our stay, we attended and moderated numerous panels and workshops, were recognized for our spectacular customer service department, and snapped a few photos with new friends with our highly anticipated Photo Stations and Snapchat geofilters! We also introduced our suite of new event intelligence features and promotion tools like Timelines, Segments, and the Marketing Dashboard. But let’s not forget, we also got to explore the culturally rich city that is New Orleans! Our team had a blast roaming its busy streets, listening to the swinging musical tones of jazz music, and devouring tasty local bites!

We want to share a few of our favorite moments from INTIX 2017.

Jim Barczak – Director of Client Relations

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend this show since 1999 and even after all this time, INTIX remains a fun learning opportunity. I’ve seen some great venues and created memories with coworkers, clients, and peers in cities across North America while INTIX 2017hearing about the latest trends, changes, and more in our crazy business. But more importantly for me, INTIX has been and continues to be a place to build lasting relationships (some for over 15 years now!), to reconnect with so many old friends, and always manage to make some new ones… I look forward to seeing everyone in Baltimore!

Matt Donnelly – Director of Client Services

INTIX 2017 was a great conference for ShowClix. We deployed 9 people to New Orleans for the three-day event, which allowed us to cover a lot of ground each day. Our booth stayed busy with prospects, consultants, and potential partners inquiring about what makes our offering different. Our COO, Brian Arnone, led a panel on the explosive growth of cons, which was well attended and led to some interesting conversations about fan engagement. Our house party on Tuesday night was a huge success, with all the guests expressing how fun it was (some even boasting that it was the best INTIX party they have ever been to)! For the third year in a row, we sponsored the Gala event on Wednesday and had our Photo Station there to capture all the good times. We always leave that party with lots of new friends and we love that.

Ryan Hurst – Director of Customer Care

The three-day conference and exhibit consisted of a comprehensive program of sessions highlighting ticketing industry trends and innovations. With this being my first year attending the conference, I was able to participate in a mentorship program where I was paired up with two veteran board members of INTIX to show me the ropes. Additionally, I had the distinct pleasure of representing ShowClix during the INTIX awards ceremony as our Customer Care Dept was nominated for Outstanding Box Office of The Year.  The award went to Daytona Speedway, but nonetheless, it was an honor to be mentioned in the same category.

All and all, I couldn’t be more thrilled with my time spent at INTIX. I look forward to being more involved by volunteering on a committee at next year’s conference in Baltimore, MD.

Jason Mastrine – Head of Partnerships

I first began attending INTIX in 1999, but stopped several years ago to focus on some other conferences. What a joy it was to re-join this wonderful group of industry professionals, and to do so in The Big Easy, to boot! People come to INTIX for a variety of reasons, as you can imagine, but one thing that’s always remained consistent are participants’ commitment to their own professional development. It brings out the best in everyone as evidenced by all the new friends we made, the amazing reaction to our Photo Stations, and the big Gala event we sponsored on Wednesday night.
